Public Events, Lectures & Educational Classes

We run a lively calendar of public lectures and classes — many free and open to the community — taught by experts and fellow club members.

The Race Ambassador Program Returns this Spring!

New and Current Club Members interested in racing—but who may be new to the sport or seeking more confidence—Are Encouraged to Join!

Taught by Club members, this program provides a fun on-the-water, opportunity to meet fellow members and participate in a racing program with a proud tradition spanning over 150 years.

Mentorship
This comprehensive program offers both classroom sessions and on-the-water support.

In the classroom, potential new racers develop a basic understanding of racing rules, strategies, and crew roles.

On the water, skippers receive hands-on instruction and support, helping them overcome the “fear of the unknown” and transition into active racers.

This program is being offered thanks to the efforts of the RIYC Educational Foundation.

There is a $25 suggested donation to support our mission of providing boating related public events as well as youth tuition reimbursement for boating and sailing classes.
